San Carlos City Gives Local DepEd Various Equipment
The local government of San Carlos City through City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo turned-over 90 units of 55-inch LED TVs, 1-unit Copylandia Comcolor Copier and Sorter, and 1-unit ID maker worth P4,876,820 to the Department of Education (DepEd) San Carlos City last Oct. 1 at the DepEd Superintendent’s Hall.

Anthony Liobet, CESO VI, Schools Division Superintendent gratefully received said equipment. He said the machines will be used for the reproduction of modules and the TVs, paired with the upcoming portable media library, will be used to air different learning episodes for the students.
Liobet mentioned that the teachers also received P500 as load allowance to be used to contact parents of students in regards with school announcements and inquiries. He also cited that the city has also provided a budget of P4.6M for the purchase of bond papers and printers – three printers for each school.
Liobet said that DepEd is planning to launch their own radio and TV studio to be situated at Congressman Vicente Gustilo Sr. Memorial School. The radio broadcast system is part of DepEd’s blending learning approach in widening the access of education to students despite the pandemic. He added that there are selected teachers to do the live teaching, and he aims to make the broadcasting system operational before the year ends. Said studio with the equipment needed will be funded by the local government.
As of now, a total of P27M has been allocated to DepEd from the Special Education Fund (SEF) for the Information and Communication Technology, office and other property equipment as a support to the basic education – learning continuity plan for the different learning delivery modalities to be implemented in every schools. The SEF is sourced from real property taxes collected by the local government.
Sangguniang Panlungsod Member Lorna Hinolan was also present during the event along with the principals and teachers of the different schools in the city.
