sectors of the city
A total of P42,000 cash aid went to the group of persons with disability (PWD); P95,000 to locally displaced workers; and P260,000 to daycare workers.
Said cash assistance was under the project of Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose (Bong) V. Lacson where 14 PWD received P3,000 each for medical assistance; P5,000 each to 19 displaced workers; and P4,000 each to 65 daycare workers in 18 barangays.
Local PWD Federation Secretary Rene Agraviador Jr said only 14 PWD received said aid due to their illnesses that need financial support and who did not receive previous help during the annual distribution while CSWD Officer Cynthia Mirande cited that those displaced workers who received now were not able to avail of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) of the gov't during the height of the pandemic and those for the daycare workers were their financial subsidy for the months of January to June.
Merlie Garcia, Officer-In-charge of the Provincial Social Welfare & Development Office led in the distribution assisted by the staff of CSWDO.
