City Launches KAABAG in Brgy. 4

San Carlos City thru its San Carlos City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (SCCADAC) launched the Kinabuhi Angay Ampingan Bag-uhon Alang sa Ginoo (K.A.A.B.A.G.), a Community Based Drug Rehabilitation Program (CBDRP), Oct. 25 at Barangay 4 Covered Court.

At least 23 participated in the CBDRP consisting of 19 probationers under the plea bargain agreement, 3 Persons Who Uses Drugs (PWUDs) and 1 Job Order employee.
Most Rev. Gerardo Alminaza D.D, Diocese of San Carlos and Chairman of the KAABAG – CBDRP explained that there are 3 components in the program consisting of self-care, family care and community care which the city, the barangay and the religious sector worked on.
He urged the families of the participants to give strong support to them so they will not return to their old ways for their complete transformation.
SCCADAC Secretariat Analiza Macaraya said the program will consist of 10 days intensive approach where an 8-hour session is required while the 80 days are 2-hour support sessions per day that they need to comply after which aftercare follows.
Nicholas Gomez, Provincial Officer of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) – Neg. Occ. said that beneficiaries are so lucky to have been given the opportunity by the government to change and become useful citizens anew through the various programs and trainings provided for free thru the CBDRP.
DILG Officer Danille Marie Osorio together with City Social Welfare and Development Officer Cynthia Mirande, PLt. Col. Arthur D. Baybayan of the PNP – San Carlos, City Health Officer Dr. Arniel Laurence Portuguez, Brgy. 4 Punong Barangay Armando Laguda Jr. and members of SCCADAC were present during the event.
