Women’s Groups Upgrade Skills in Soap-Making

At least 19 participants of different four Women’s Association in the upland barangay undergone a one-day training on soap-making, Oct. 26.

Barangays Codcod, Quezon, Nataban and Prosperidad women beneficiaries were taught how to enhance their skills in making dishwashing liquid, fabric conditioner and powdered detergents facilitated by an accredited trainer from Bacolod City.
Randy A. Margaha, Rural Improvement Club (RIC) Designate in-Charge of the Cooperatives Livelihood & Development Office (CLDO) said that they’re conducting upgrading skills training because the associations requested for it.
He added that the Resolution No. 21-282 entitled “Encouraging Resorts, Hotels, Motels, Pension Houses and Restaurants in San Carlos City to support Small Businesses by Patronizing Locally-Produced Soap Products” will create a bigger demand for the associations.
President of the Brgy. Codcod United Women’s Association Beatrice Lastimoso said that she is thankful to the city government of the said training and that the SP Resolution is also a big support to their group, creating a ready market for their products.
Raul De Arce of the CLDO encouraged the participants and associations to display their own products at the CLDO Kiosk in the upcoming trade fair this coming October 30 to November 14, 2021 at the People’s Park to get more customers.
