Asian Countries & Various LGU Reps Visit San Carlos City

More than 25 participants to the 1st regional training workshop on Measuring and Mitigating Short Lived Climate Pollutants from the Municipal Solid Waste Sector made a site-visit in San Carlos City last April 4, 2018.

Said group include environmental officers from Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar together with those from the municipalities of Solano, Nueva Vizcaya; Virac, Catanduanes; Maragusan, Compostela Valley; Province of South Cotabato; and, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Institute for Global Environmental Strategies.

Vice Chair of the National Solid Waste Management Commission Crispian Lao who led the delegation said that they really need to see and learn how San Carlos City implemented its environmental programs.

He added that it’s very important for them to know these techniques to help them create national strategy that curbs pollution.

City Mayor Gerardo P. Valmayor Jr. spearheaded the presentation of the city’s environmental programs to the visitors especially the solid waste management including successful implementation of various projects in the city and answered all their queries together with the staff of the City Environment Management Office.
