I. FUNCTIONAL STATEMENT:
1. Provides clean, orderly, effective and efficient public markets and slaughterhouse services to the consuming public. 2. Collects market and slaughterhouse fees, and such other fees related to market and slaughterhouse activities. 3. Enforces / implements:
a. laws, ordinances, pertinent rules and regulations governing the management, operation, administration and maintenance of public markets and slaughterhouse; b. rules and policies regarding the proper use of public markets and slaughterhouse and its facilities; c. the proper and effective disposition of all available areas for rent in public markets, including rental fees and related charges thereof; d. such other regulatory measures as maybe necessary in the effective administration, management, maintenance and operations of public markets and slaughterhouse.
4. Supervises, controls and regulates the entrance and clearance of goods and other articles of commerce that enter the public markets and slaughterhouse and its premises. 5.Formulates pertinent guidelines and regulations necessary for the proper and effective implementation of relevant laws, ordinances and regulations germane to public markets and slaughterhouse management,administration and operation. 6.Recommends and advises the City Mayor and the Sangguniang Panlungsod regarding the utilization of public markets and slaughterhouse facilities and services and such other related matters.
II. OBJECTIVES:
1. To manage and maximize the utilization of the facilities and resources of public markets and slaughterhouse. 2. To generate and maximize revenues of public markets and slaughterhouse. 3. To promote and develop public markets and slaughterhouse through strict and proper implementation of its ordinances and such other applicable laws, rules and regulations thereby resulting in optimum revenue collection for the City Government. 4. To maintain orderly, clean and sanitary public markets and slaughterhouse. 5. To effectively operate, administer and manage public markets and slaughterhouse for the general welfare and benefit of the consuming public.
