RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND HIGHWAYS OF REGION VI TO EVALUATE THE SITUATION AT MEDINA BRIDGE, BRGY. RIZAL, SAN CARLOS CITY, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL AND REQUESTING FURTHER FOR ITS FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE PUBLIC SAFETY

WHEREAS, reports reached the Sangguniang Panlungsod that sand and gravel are being quarried at Medina Bridge, Brgy. Rizal, this city;

WHEREAS, this Body finds the said report as alarming considering that quarrying right under the bridge might jeopardize the structure of the bridge to cause its collapse;

WHEREAS, this august Body needs the assistance of the Department of Public Works and Highways to evaluate and check on its veracity and recommends actions on its findings for the safety of the public;

NOW, THEREFORE, On motion of Hon. SANTILLAN, seconded by Hon. YU, it was

RESOLVED to request the DPWH of Region VI to evaluate the situation at Medina Bridge,  Brgy. Rizal, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

RESOLVED FURTHER, to request DPWH to inform this Body of its findings and recommendations for the public safety.

RESOLVED FURTHERMORE, to furnish copies of this resolution to the Honorable City Mayor, this city and the DPWH, Region VI, for their information and appropriate action.
